Don’t miss out on your 2025 benefits

With the end of the year just around the corner, now is the perfect time to make sure you take advantage of your plan benefits and resources. Here are six to take advantage of now.

A couple laughing.

1. SilverSneakers® membership

You have a basic fitness membership through SilverSneakers®. With this benefit, you get a chance to improve your health, build confidence and connect with your community. And it’s included in your plan at no added cost.

Start by visiting SilverSneakers.com

"Being a new retiree, I love the SilverSneakers fitness benefit Aetna offers to help me stay active and healthy."*

2. Covered vaccines

Staying up to date on your annual vaccines can help you stay healthy year-round. Covered vaccines include flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). You can get covered preventive vaccines at locations like in-network retail pharmacies, clinics and your provider's office.

“Aetna has taken really good care of me this year. They made sure I had my Covid and flu shots and paid for my medicine. I love Aetna!”*

3. Annual Wellness Visit (AWV)

Your Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) is a covered yearly checkup with your primary care provider. During the visit, your PCP will talk to you about your overall health and wellness. They will use your answers to build a personalized prevention plan based on your current health and risk factors. The visit may include other services, such as:

  • A review of medical and family history
  • Measurements like height, weight and blood pressure
  • Mental health assessment
  • Fall risk assessment

"My appointment was comprehensive and answered all the questions I had. It was comfortable and efficient."*

4. Fall prevention benefit

You have an annual allowance to buy select safety items (like nonslip bath mats and grab bars) that can help keep you steady at home. Take advantage of the allowance to fall-proof your home for the new year.

To check out a complete list of covered items, visit the URL on the back of your member ID card. To see your plan details, scroll to the bottom of the page to choose your state, county and plan name.

Have you heard?

Roche has been introduced as a new second preferred supplier for diabetic blood glucose testing. This addition allows you to choose from Roche Accu-Chek Guide Me and Guide blood glucose meters and their corresponding test strips. This gives you more options for managing your diabetes. If you have questions, call the Member Services number on your member ID card.

5. Over-the-counter (OTC) allowance

You have a monthly benefit amount (allowance) to help pay for certain everyday expenses including over-the-counter (OTC) health and wellness products, like pain relievers, allergy medicine, first aid supplies and more.

You can get approved products online, by phone or at participating locations. Any unused allowances don't roll over into the next month or next plan year.

6. Care team

Many health care professionals play an important role in maintaining your health, including your dedicated Aetna care team. Their goal is to help you stay as healthy as possible while saving you time and stress along the way. They can help coordinate your care and get the community services and resources you may need. Your care team may also:

  • Develop a care plan with your doctor
  • Coordinate visits to doctors, dentists and other health care providers
  • Help you understand your medications
  • Connect you with community food banks
  • Assist you in finding local and state programs for safe housing, assistance with utility bills and more
  • Help you access your state benefits
