As an Aetna® Chronic Condition Special Needs Plan (C-SNP) member, you have an added benefit that can help you save money on certain everyday expenses. You automatically qualify for an Extra Supports Wallet* with a monthly benefit amount (allowance) on the Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card.

You can use your card in three ways:

  • In-store: Buy approved products at participating CVS® retail locations (excluding CVS stores located inside other retail stores).
  • Online: Order eligible items through the CVS OTC Health Solutions® website or CVS OTC Health Solutions app.
  • By phone: Call CVS OTC Health Solutions® to place an order for approved products. The toll-free number is 1-844-428-8147 (TTY: 711) 8 AM to 8 PM local time, 7 days a week, excluding federal holidays.

Remember: Unused allowances do not roll over into the next benefit period or next plan year. If you have questions about how to use your card, see your Evidence of Coverage for more details. Ready to start shopping? Check out some of the approved products and services you can pay for with your card below.

1. Healthy foods

Making nutritious choices can make a real difference in how you feel every day. Fill your plate with lean proteins, colorful vegetables, fruits and whole grains to support your heart health. Healthy food can also help balance your blood sugar and boost your energy.

With your Extra Benefits Card (EBC), you can easily stock up on approved healthy foods at participating retail locations, like CVS, Walmart and Kroger. Your EBC can help you stay well, feel your best and make every meal you eat a step toward better health.

2. Over-the-counter (OTC) health and wellness products

Having the right OTC products at home makes it easier to manage your chronic condition. And your EBC can help you make sure you have what you need. You can use it to stock your medicine cabinet with wellness supplies like:

  • A blood pressure monitor
  • Pill organizers
  • Pain relievers

3. Utilities

If you have a condition like chronic heart failure or diabetes, having a safe and comfortable home environment is essential. Reliable heat, water and electricity can help you store medications properly, prepare healthy meals and stay in touch with your care team and loved ones.

Your Extra Benefits Card can help cover approved utility expenses. Then you can focus on your health and peace of mind. Sign in to your secure member website to find details on utilities covered by your plan.

4. Transportation

Getting where you need to go isn’t always easy — especially when you’re not feeling well. With your Extra Benefits Card, you can pay for approved transportation services to your provider’s office, pharmacy or other medical appointments. That may include:

  • Taxi or rideshare services like Uber and Lyft
  • Public transportation such as the bus or metro
  • Gas at the pump when driving yourself or a loved one who helps get you there

 5. Personal care products

Taking care of yourself every day helps you stay healthy and feel confident and comfortable. Use your EBC to purchase approved personal care items that support your overall well-being.

These may include:

  • Skin and foot care products to help prevent dryness, irritation or infection
  • Oral care essentials like toothpaste, mouthwash and dental floss
  • Hygiene items such as soap, shampoo and deodorant
  • First-aid and wound care supplies to care for small cuts or scrapes
